Q. 1. In response to the speaker’s question What singed “thy wings ?” The Koel replies, “The fire of love has charred my wings.” What does the Koel’s answer suggest ? Can love burn like fire ? Is this burning a positive thing or a negative one ? Explain.

Ans. The Koels answer suggest that love is like a fire. Yes, love burns like fire. Burning by the fire of love is a positive thing. Burning in love does not turn a being into its death but it is a flourishment of life. It is a boon to life; It is the need of life; It is the creation of life.





Q. 2. Why does the poet call the Koel “a rain of spark” ? Explain.

Ans. The song of the Koel is very enchanting. It spreads like the spark of fire all around. When the Koel sings its song does not seem to come from only inside but it seems to come from all around. Thus, the poet has said it ‘a rain of spark’


Q. 3. Why is the Koel restless ? Is she able to win over her restlessness? If no, Why?

Ans. The Koel is restless in searching her love. The season of string arouse the deserve of love in her heart. Yes, she is able to win over the restlessness. The song of the Koel is heard by her lover and they both meet together.


Q. 4. Why is the Koel praised ? How do you feel when you hear its voice ?

Ans. The Koel is a spring bird. Spring season is itself very charming and lovely. The Koel’s song is also very charming. The song of the Koel make the pleasant season and the surroundings lively. Thus, the Koel is praised I feel very pleasant hearing the fine notes of the Koel. It seems to me that the Koel is beckoning me to spread my love, too, around in nature

Q. 5. Do you think that the Koel symbolises true love ?

Ans. Yes, the Koel is a love bird. Its song, too, is lovely. It strikes the heart of ever people. It means the Koel consumes its love not only herself but she also distributes it to all. Every body is excited on her song. Thus, it is true to say that the Koel symbolises true love.


Q. 6. Nature always soothes our aggrieved soul.

Ans. Group A : Is it true to say that nature always soothes our aggrieved soul ?

Group B : Yes, it is true to say that nature always soothes our aggrieved soul.

                                                                                                                  Nature is each and everything what we see and fell. It is the vice and virtue both at the same time. It is prosperity and adversity both at the same time. So, it is both grief and relief at the same time. When we become aggrieved, it is the work of nature and, on the other hand, nature itself soothes us according to its feature.


Q. 7. We always look forward to meeting whom we love.

Ans. Group A : We always look forward to meeting whom we love. Love is life on the earth. Love has an attraction. So, we always look forward to beating whom we love.

Group B : But, love is not an individual thing. Love always be gets love. Love is a common thing. We cannot keep love safe for ourselves only. We have to share it with others. So, we always look forward to meeting whom we love.




Q. 8. Write a paragraph in about 100 words on each of the following:

(i) A caged bird finds it difficult to sing.

Ans. Every living being likes freedom. Even a tree wants to live free in nature. Freedom gives spontaenous sprout to all. But, when we bind something or someone his hormones stop to flow, his spontansity shirks. Singing is the matter of love and affection. When we cage a bird it becomes sad. It lost all its spontaneity. Till it remains under the cage it always thinks to get free. Its mind gets involved into the difficulty. So, it does not feel to sing or take joy for the time being. Thus, a caged bird finds it difficult to sing.

(ii) The cuckoo’s voice.

Ans. The cuckoo is a love bird. It appears in spring season. Like spring season everyone loves cuckoo fir its sound and song. When it sings no one sees its shape or form but only hears its song. But, its song is so charming the it opens the value of heart, the passage of heart. Its voice is to sweet and fine that people tempt to hear its sound. Cuckoo’s sound heralds the advent of spring season. So, the voice of cuckoo is very useful to all. It seems that the voice of cuckoo animates nature.
